The local picture

Living in a Star manufactured home community

Star is the kind of town where park living sits right up against farmland. It is part of Ada County but a world away from downtown Boise, and it appeals to buyers who want a real small-town feel.

Star keeps a more agricultural character than its Ada County neighbors, and its park communities lean older and owner-operated. Homes here are often older HUD-label homes, so the age-of-home rules and park minimum-year policies are the first filter in any search.

The community itself

What manufactured home living looks like in Star

Smaller, owner-operated park communities where you buy the home and lease the pad, plus a few land-home options.

Pads vary by community; most accommodate single-wide and double-wide homes. We confirm the layout of the community you are considering.

Amenities are typically simpler in Star's small parks; some offer community rooms or laundry, and some are bare-bones. We verify each list.

Most park homes are older HUD-code manufactured homes, so the label and the park's minimum-year rule are the first checks we make.

Parks, utilities, and services

In most Treasure Valley parks, lot rent covers water, sewer and trash, with electricity and gas billed separately. Star's rural parks may also involve well and septic questions, which we walk through.

Schools

West Ada School District serves most of Star, with portions served by the Middleton School District.

Commute

About 30 minutes to downtown Boise, and a little more to Micron's campus on the southeast side depending on traffic.
